Robinson+Cole's Insurance Transactional, Corporate, and Regulatory Group comprises a multidisciplinary team of lawyers who represent insurance companies and other insurance industry clients in numerous matters affecting their business. Our lawyers have backgrounds in varied legal disciplines, such as corporate, mergers and acquisitions, finance, administrative proceedings, contracting, government investigations, market conduct, employee and compensation matters, and tax. We also work closely with our government relations lobbyists on regulatory, legislative, and public policy issues affecting specific clients and the insurance industry generally.

We represent the Connecticut Life and Health Insurance Guaranty Association as outside general counsel, and in that capacity we have worked on significant issues resulting from insurer insolvencies. Our Government Relations Group counts among its clients the Connecticut Association of Health Plans.

      • Represented a Dutch-based global financial services and insurance company in connection with its acquisition of the financial services business of a large Hartford-based insurance company.
